Hand Tracking Doesn't Work
Check the version of Ultraleap software.
If the installed Ultraleap software is outdated, we recommend updating to the latest version.
Hand tracking in LuppetX is not available with the older (V4) LeapMotion software released in 2020.
Note
For information on how to update, please check the Ultraleap Setup for installation instructions.
Hand tracking doesn’t work even though Gemini is installed
There are several possible solutions:
- Restart your PC.
- Unplug the LeapMotion USB and plug it back in.
- Check if Ultraleap Tracking is running in the [Services] tab of Task Manager.
(If it’s stopped, right-click to start it.)
LeapMotion works, but sensitivity is poor
LeapMotion estimates the shape of the hand by processing images obtained from an infrared camera.
- Wipe the surface of the LeapMotion clean.
- Try flipping it upside down and testing again.
- Keep away from objects that emit infrared light.
- Don’t bring your hand too close.
- Don’t place it on the floor. (Luppet is designed to use LeapMotion facing forward from the neck.)
Try these solutions.
Note
Many users have difficulty using LeapMotion when placing it on a desk.
Please review the video on the first page of the documentation for the correct usage.
